Frances Jeanne Lockett Adcox

October 4, 1948 - January 2, 2016

Frances Jeanne Adcox Lockett passed away during the early hours of the morning of January 2nd at the Plantation Estates Assisted Living Center in Porter, Texas.

Born in Palestine, Texas, October 4th, 1948, she graduated from Palestine High School and then later received her Bachelors of Science in Chemistry from Baylor University in 1970.

Jeanne began teaching after graduation from Baylor and spent her 38 years in education teaching in the Palestine Independent School District. She taught many of those years in a 4th grade classroom, shaping and directing many young children to brighter and more successful educational futures. Her final years in teaching before retirement were at A.M. Story Elementary School.

Jeanne played the Piano for many years at First Baptist Church in Palestine and had the honor and privilege of playing across from her mother, who played the organ at the church.

Jeanne loved to read, socialize at church, and spend time with her grandchildren. She had a way with others to make them feel as if they had known her for many years and a smile that could light up a room and cheer up anyone she knew.

Jeanne is survived by her husband of 44 years, Clay of Kingwood, daughter, Nancy of Kingwood, son David and wife Linnea of Temple, and 4 grandchildren.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her mother and father, Eleanor Tilley Adcox and Charles Haskell Adcox.
